Mazlaghan rugs are categorized as one of the Hamadan MOSUL RUGS. As of the late twentieth century, Mazlaghan weavers continued to use the traditional open-field designs but with more design elements in the background. Some weavers switched from traditional designs and made rugs and carpets similar to neighboring areas in accordance with foreign export and domestic consumer demand. Early Mazlaghan rugs can have a value up to $5,000.
