Museum of Islamic Art Doha
Museum of Islamic Art Doha (Arabic: mathaf al-fann al-islāmī, MIA), is an Art Museum, founded in 2008, in Doha, Qatar. The museum collections includes masterpieces of Islamic art, including metalwork, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork, carpets, textiles and glass, collected from three continents and dating from the 7th to the 19th century.

History
Museum of Islamic Art, offshore museum in Doha, Qatar, located on the southern end of Doha Bay. It is noted for its vast collection of Islamic art spanning 1,300 years. The museum, which opened in 2008, was designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning Chinese American architect I.M. Pei, with an interior designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte. While it maintains a style typical of Pei’s work, the building incorporates elements that can be seen in ancient Middle Eastern structures.[1]
Collection
Its collection includes many prized examples of Arabic calligraphy, early Islamic books, ceramics, glass, ivory, jewelry, metalwork, miniatures, textiles, and woodwork.[2]
