• Outstanding Norwegian rug collection on sale | The Norwegian rug collector Petter Andreas Haug will sell his entire collection of antique rugs. The collection includes 518 pieces from Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Caucasus, Turkey and Persia. The collection is one of the most important in Northern Europe and has been collected through more than 45 years.
• Textiles from Eurasia – Revisiting the Silkroad | In the first week of June 2020, from 3-5 June, the ICOC in conjunction with the TKF and the Mongolian Centre of the University of Vienna will organise a symposium ”Textiles from Eurasia – Revisiting the Silkroad”. The symposium will take place in the centre of Vienna at Palais Breuner.
• International Conference on Oriental Carpets in Istanbul 2020 | The Executive Committee of the International Conference on Oriental Carpets has just announced that its 15th International Conference will be held 20-23 October 2020 in Istanbul. The Conference will be held during Istanbul Carpet Week and in cooperation with the Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association.
• Collector rugs at Austria Auction Company | Austria Auction Company will hold their next auction ‘Collector Rugs IV – No Reserve’ 28 February 2020 at 3pm. This auction includes 136 antique rugs and textiles.
