INDEX is the Middle East's largest interior design show where architects, interior designers, and hoteliers make business with 1,200+ suppliers and brands to bring design visions to life. Sectors include lighting, furniture, furnishings, homeware, artisan, textiles, office equipment, surface materials, hospitality interiors and more.^[1]

History

Index Exhibition Dubai is an annual Trade Show and a base where plenty of products displayed. Many of these are typically about Design, Decoration, Homewares, Furniture Accessories and Interior Design.^[2] This exhibaition connecting architects, interior designers, developers and procurement professionals with new brands, trend-setting start-ups and the biggest international names in the interior furnishings and fit-out scene across all industries. Launched in 1990, INDEX Exhibition is the Middle East & North Africa’s largest gathering for the design community.^[3]
The Index team claiming that: Over 70% of Index exhibitors don't exhibit at any other event in the region. This means that over 553 international and local companies understand that INDEX is the most important design show for the Middle East, offering you access to over 50,000 industry professionals. In 2018 the INDEX attendees voted their top reasons they visited the show: To conduct product research, to source potential suppliers for future projects and to buy products for specific projects.^[4]

My Modern Materials: MaterialDistrict selected 100 materials for the special exhibition “My Modern Materials”, all materials were selected exclusively for interiors and design related professionals and have functional properties as well as aesthetic ones. including carpet made of palm leaves, tiles made of oyster shells, engineered wood, cork textile and bamboo composites, materials made of coffee grounds and acoustic felt made of recycled denim, etc.^[6]
VENTURA Dubai: Ventura Projects are curated exhibition areas that present the latest developments at the forefront of contemporary design. Each Ventura Project involves carefully selected exhibitions that also feature temporary initiatives, special projects and/or creative hospitality concepts. Whether as a design district or integrated exhibition, Ventura Projects stands out with its focus on content, creativity and experimentation.^[7] In 2019, Providing a platform for talented designers, design studios and creative labels, Ventura Dubai presented 31 design brands from across the globe, ranging from novel to iconic. Highlighting and showcasing the concepts, stories and faces behind the works, Ventura Dubai comprises an exhibition area with a focus on creativity, ingeniousness, craftsmanship, sustainability and a unique design signature.^[8]

2020

INDEX will be a part of Middle East Design and Hospitality Week 2020 (17-19 September). Through SEVEN co-located events across THREE days, MEDHW will showcase the most important brands form the design and hospitality communities. Visitors attending will not only come from the UAE, but will also include neighbouring GCC countries, India, Russia and East North Africa.^[9]

Dubai Design Week

Dubai Design Week is a creative festival that include the six-day programme encompasses events covering design across a range of disciplines including architecture, product design, interiors, multimedia and graphic design as well as exhibitions, talks, workshops, and interactive experiences.^[12]
