Oriental Rugs at Material Culture | Material Culture will hold their next auction ‘Oriental Rugs from American Estates’ on 23 January 2020 at 11 am in Philadelphia. The public preview exhibition is open daily 21-22 January from 11 am to 4 pm. The auction includes 271 lots and among them antique and semi-antique Persian, Caucasian, Anatolian and Chinese rugs and carpets.
Textiles from Eurasia – Revisiting the Silkroad | In the first week of June 2020, from 3-5 June, the ICOC in conjunction with the TKF and the Mongolian Centre of the University of Vienna will organise a symposium ”Textiles from Eurasia – Revisiting the Silkroad”. The symposium will take place in the centre of Vienna at Palais Breuner.

In the meantime, the ORTS Autumn Lecture Series contains three talks shedding light on antique rugs and textiles at their present venue at St James Piccadilly in London.
‘Rethreading & Retracing: Textiles and Techniques by Bita Ghezelayagh’|at the Aga Khan Centre Gallery in London explores the artist’s long-standing interest in working with found materials such as antique carpet fragments.

The Dallas Museum of Art has an excellent database of 25,000 works of art from the collection and is another Open Access institution. The pieces of Islamic art currently on loan from the Keir Collection include classical carpets and textiles of outstanding quality, which can be admired online.
Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, DC, is home to about 260 Byzantine and early Islamic textiles.

The 16th Sartirana Textile Show: will, like last year, take place at Promotrice delle Belle Arti in Turin from Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November 2020.
Koller Auction’s next carpet specialist sale ‘Carpets’: will take place 18 June at 4.30 PM in Zurich. The auction includes 69 old or antique rugs and carpets. Most of the rugs on sale are Persian rugs but Caucasian and Anatolian rugs are present too.
Austria Auction Company: will hold their next auction ‘Fine Antique Oriental Rugs XX’ 30 May 2020 at 4pm. This auction includes 112 antique rugs and textiles. The highlight of this auction is lot 29, a 17th medallion Ushak with an estimate of 30.000-40.000 Euro.

New dates for Sartirana Textile Show 21-25 October 2020: Sartirana Textile Show 2020 is now scheduled to take place 21-25 October 2020 in Turin. This years show will take place simultaneously with APA/RT, a well-established exhibition of general antiques appealing to a broad public. The venue will be the same as last year, the Promotrice delle Belle Arti, in the heart of Turin.
